Denetta Suppes Dunlap was born and raised in Olathe, Colorado. She has two children one in High School and the other living in Anchorage, Alaska. She has been in some form of law enforcement/judicial branch for 13 years. Denetta started working as a Colorado State Patrol Dispatcher in 2000 to 2001 in Denver and Grand Junction areas. After working graveyard shifts for a year Denetta needed more time with her child so she stared working for the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office for five years from 2001 to 2006 as a Legal Administrative Technician II.
As life continued to change, she left the Grand Junction area and ventured up to Craig, Colorado with now two children where she worked two part time jobs one with the Moffat Combined Courts as a Court Judicial Assistant and the other with the 14th Judicial District Probation Department as their Administrative Assistant and Drug Court Clerk. She did this work for two years and when there was an opportunity to go back to a District Attorney’s Office she took advantage of that and joined the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s Office as an Office Manager for two years. After her first child graduated high school Denetta wanted to go back to her home town and finish raising her second child in the same home town that she grew up in.
In 2014 Denetta had another great opportunity to join the 7th Judicial District Attorney’s Office as their Sex Offense Victim Specialist taking her back home. In 2016 Denetta was honored by the Colorado District Attorney’s Council naming her the Victim Advocate of the year.
When she is not at work Denetta is very involved in her children’s lives. She loves the outdoors, hunting, camping, fishing and just being with family and friends.
