Coming to the Seventh Judicial District from Anchorage, Alaska, attorney Matt Magliaro has career experience with the judiciary, private civil practice, and criminal prosecution.
Matt attended Southern Oregon University in Ashland, and returned to his hometown of Spokane, Washington, to attend law school at Gonzaga University School of Law. During two years of law school, Matt interned for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington, where he helped draft appellate briefs to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals as well as handled a docket of misdemeanor cases. Matt continued with criminal law as a county deputy district attorney in the Eighteenth Judicial District in Colorado.
After earning his law degree in 2007, he moved to Alaska where he had the privilege of clerking for five years in the Superior Courts in Bethel, Nome and Kotzebue. Matt had limited judicial duties as an appointed deputy magistrate for three years during two of these clerkships. His most recent position was as an associate attorney with a private civil litigation firm in Anchorage.
In the time he is not working on cases, Matt enjoys camping, hiking, and exploring the Montrose area.
