Ian Fowler was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2004. He practiced consumer bankruptcy law before becoming a deputy district attorney in the Rio Blanco County Court, Colorado, located in the 9th Judicial District in 2008. In 2013, he began a tenure as the Deputy DA in County and District Court for Rio Blanco. After leaving the District Attorney’s office in 2014, he entered a period of private practice that included criminal defense and dependency and neglect cases.
Ian returned to criminal prosecution in the 7th Judicial District in April 2016, as Montrose County Court Deputy DA. In September 2016, he became Deputy DA for the juvenile criminal cases in Montrose and Delta Counties. He is also the Deputy DA for Ouray County in its entirety. He is ably assisted in these endeavors by Dawn Schlauger, Cindy Holland, and Teresa Trotta.
He and his wife Pamela have a number of dogs.
