DA and Task Force Fight Heroin Problem

July 27, 2017 — Through the combined efforts of the 7th Judicial Drug Task Force and the District Attorney’s Office, two heroin dealers are heading to prison. On July 24, 2017, Mr. Ernest Abachiche was sentenced to 8 years in prison, in large part for dealing heroin, and Mr. Houshang Jangi was sentenced to 5 years in prison for distribution of heroin. Deputy DA Beckenhauer argued for additional prison for Mr. Jangi, as his criminal activities in the Montrose area were substantial and may have led to at least one overdose death.

Numerous law enforcement agencies and officers assisted in the investigation and apprehension of both Mr. Abachiche and Mr. Jangi. The DA is committed to a working partnership with the Drug Task Force and area law enforcement to identify, charge, convict and incarcerate those individuals dealing dangerous drugs in our communities.
